What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach developed in 1987 by Francine Shapiro, who initially observed its effects while watching the ocean. It involves using bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements, to help individuals reprocess distressing memories. EMDR has shown effectiveness in treating various conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety disorders, and other trauma-related issues.

"It is the subtle changes that I am must surprised about. So much of my life I avoided, ... I am no longer afraid. I no longer ashamed."
"I stop blaming myself for what happened. I now just feel sorry for my younger self. And I am committed to taking care of her moving forward. "
